If I go any farther, I'll destroy this!

And its a Copic drawing, so the completed parts might be unsalvageable, too!

First, there's the big area...the foreground around the lady in front. You can see I started it there, but quit when I realized the similarity between her complexion and the ground, I froze. Too much beige.
The water in that hole leaves me anxious, too. I think it all comes down to the direction of the sun, denoted by the bright yellow on the left side of the shack. I imagine its a sunset scene. Any help with portraying shadows on pondwater, or anything else, would be greatly helpful, as I think that will make or break this thing...
and improper shadows kinda killed that last work I placed here.

Thank you in advance!

Just because it's only copic now doesn't mean ya can't mix media. Try using color pencil to change things up ;)

another good way is that if your all ways afraid of it being destroyed, make a copy of it and print it out. may not be on the same quality paper but you try. just try not to ruin the printer or paper :)

Excellent suggestion BlueVon. =)

Scanning and making color copies of your work is a great way to test "adding to it" without destroying your original. I am usually dependent on my programs for coloring because I can change anything on a whim... color palletes, backgrounds, foregrounds, etc... So to save my sketches from me "overdoing it" - I often make a high quality copy of it and work from there. This will give you a chance to mix media or change it up if you get stuck.

yeah, thats a habit I gotten into recently. From bad experience i've ruined awsome line-art. So now I scan in a highres version and test my media on printouts. You can print onto drawing paper and watercolor paper instead of regular printer paper.
